So yeah. It's been more than a year since I've last posted anything. I'm not exactly dead... I'm just not scanning anything to be honest >>; I've been trying to develop my stories a lot more. I've kinda been meaning to post 'em on here but the problem is I don't think enough people that haven't seen it watch me to give me enough feedback. I suppose I should submit stuff anyway cuz if I don't It won't get seen but i still can't help but go "hmm" at the thought of it.

I don't really like DA too much anymore. I love that i can come here and look at some fantastic art from some great people and there are a great number of people I can talk to if I feel like but at the same time I see DA for how unhealthy it is. For a long time I submitted stuff just for the purpose of seeing the comments. Very few people gave true criticism of my work and I was ok with that. That's not good. I look at other people's work now and read the comments afterward and see so many people saying they like the image or whatever, but it's not constructive. What's the point? It gets to a point where the constructive criticism is barely there and the site has become essentially nothing more than a wall outlet for people to charge their egos. Not fun stuff.

Now then, aside from the rant I do actually have things going on in this thing i tend to call a life. Whether people read this and care or not i'm not entirely sure, but it's worth it to get out there, right?

Like I said i've been poking at my stories i've had floating around in my head. One specifically has been developed quite extensively and i'm working on solidifying character designs and cementing my ability to draw them the way they're meant to be drawn consistently. With art slumps about the entire time it's been a tough road but i'm working through it for one specific reason. I'm determined to make this story into a comic manuscript. This means i need a LOT of practice, and not just with my sketchings. I need to work on my inking, experimenting with different styled pens or pen nibs or whatever i end using and such. I'm determined to make this come to fruition and find out if i can get it published. If i could do that it would be freakin amazing.

Aside from that i've been going to school and essentially failing. The thing that makes everything i do really really hard is that i am apparently a slacker to my very core. I can have all the ambition to fulfill these dreams of mine, but without the drive to do it all that ambition blows like a powerful wind and here's me sitting in my boat with no sail. Or a big hole in my sail. Whatever. In any case i'm working to improve on that.

So that's a life-update from a no-name DA artist that has decided to hide his work from all of you for the time being. Who knows, maybe i'll post something soon.
